Hello Friends!!!
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for Style It 2 Ways! This is truly my favorite segment on Bourbon Blonde! It allows me to stretch my creativity and it helps you get more bang for your buck by reworking pieces you love! I’m also starting to notice a trend within myself… I’ve been wearing a lot of slip dresses lately. I think it’s because the seasons are in transition, and a slip dress offers so much versatility. They’re perfect transitional pieces! The layering possibilities are endless! I featured a Treasure and Bond slip dress a couple of week ago in which I had layered a graphic tee under the dress. You can see that post here.
Today, I’ve got two more ways you can rock your slip dress. The star of the post is this cute, navy, polka dotted dress from a new NYC Ready To Wear company called Hautee. Their collection is full of super fun, and totally wearable pieces. I’m showcasing another piece from their collection next week! Also, as you scroll, you’ll notice my partner in crime has made her way back into a post. 😉
Look 1:
This look could be worn in countless settings. It’s casual, but still pulled together. Navy and red are always perfect compliments to one another, and not to mention red is the “It” color of the season! Neck scarves are also not going anywhere any time soon, so adorn that neck until your little heart is content! I also love the idea of pairing a denim jacket with this, but wearing it a little “off” from the norm. All I did was button one of the buttons towards the bottom and allow the jacket to hang off my shoulders a bit. In my opinion it gives it a sexier vibe. If you were to wear this on a date, you could always remove the jacket and let your bare shoulders do the talking. 😉

Look 2:
This look is definitely perfect for you tomboys out there. I personally love any look that works with a baseball cap. I love the idea of wearing the dress as a skirt by throwing a comfy, but cute, tee over it. To keep the look from appearing sloppy, I tied a knot at the bottom of the t-shirt. This gives my look shape, and also keeps it a bit more feminine. Finally, dresses and sneakers are always a good idea in my book!
I hope you enjoy both of these looks! You can shop everything at the bottom of the post!
