Hello and happy Easter! I hope everyone had a great holiday celebrating the resurrection of our Savior! We spent it with our new church family worshipping and celebrating Jesus! It truly was an awesome day! I also love how this holiday always brings out everybody’s Sunday best. It’s something I look forward to every year. Women in new dresses in fun spring colors and men in suits, sometimes even in pastel shades! So fabulous!!! It truly feels like spring once Easter rolls around. It also brings on the sudden need to wear certain things all the time! Those certain things being florals in all shapes and sizes, bright/pastel colors, lots and lots of white, and lace! Oh my goodness, so much lace! I love it all!!! Don’t y’all agree? I feel the urge to only want those items in my spring rotation ASAP!
Now, I do realize the rules of fashion have been changing over the last few years. For example, wearing white before Easter is totally acceptable now, and even continuing to wear it after Labor Day, but there’s something about Easter that makes it feel even more like spring! In addition to the Christian holiday that it is, it also acts as a turning point in seasons. It’s a way of telling ourselves that the worst of winter is over, and beautiful, sunny days are on the horizon.
The look I’m showcasing today is all about one of those fabulous spring must-haves… lace. I love lace because depending the piece’s silhouette or the way you style it, it can take on many personalities. It can be girly and sweet or edgy and tomboyish. It truly is so versatile! I styled my J Crew lace shift two different ways, in hopes that you feel inspired to try one of both options. You may even come up with a totally different way to wear your lace dress! I would love to know about it!
The first way I styled it is very girly and more traditional, incorporating heels and a scarf. The denim jacket over my shoulders is my go-to for chilly spring mornings or evenings. The second option brings out the tomboy in me, especially considering I paired Nikes with it. I also took the same denim jacket and tied it around my waist to give the dress a more casual feel. Which is your favorite?
My dress is also in yellow, which is THE color for spring! This dress is from a couple of seasons ago, but I’ve linked a gorgeous yellow shift in this post, also from J Crew, that is a fabulous alternative, in addition to some other really great lace finds that you can shop right away just by clicking the picture! BTW, they are all under $200!
Enjoy!
The yellow number below is a great alternative for the one I’m wearing! It’s also on SALE!
I love that the lace on this blue option is different that the tradition pattern.
I adore the high neck on the blush option and the cold shoulder on the navy! So good!
This looks so comfy!
The mustard option is a romper! WHAT?!?! Perfect for a beach getaway.
